Google Drive

Last updated: September 2, 2025

Introduction

The Google Drive integration in Zams allows your AI agents to create, organize, and collaborate on files and folders directly from your Google Drive. With this integration, you can ask your agent to create new documents, manage sharing permissions, organize folders, add comments, and download files—all through plain language instructions.

This guide explains how to connect Google Drive to Zams, what functionalities are supported, and how to use them effectively.

Connection Method

The Google Drive integration uses OAuth flow for authentication.

  • You need a Google account with access to Google Drive.

  • When you connect Google Drive in Zams, you will be prompted to sign in and grant permissions.

  • Once connected, your AI agents can act on your behalf to manage your Drive files.

Note

Your agent can only access files and folders you already have permission to view or edit.

Here are examples of how you can use the Google Drive integration through natural language in Zams:

File and Folder Management

  • “Create a new Google Doc called Meeting Notes in my Projects folder.”

  • “Update the file ProjectPlan.docx with this text: Final version of the project plan.”

  • “Copy Budget2025.xlsx into my Finance folder.”

  • “Delete the file OldReport.pdf.”

  • “Find my file called Marketing Strategy.”

  • “Download Presentation.pptx as a PDF.”

Collaboration and Feedback

  • “Add a comment saying Please review section 2 to the file Proposal.docx.”

  • “Reply to the comment on TeamAgenda.docx with Updated as requested.”

  • “Delete the outdated comment from Q1Plan.xlsx.”

  • “Show me all comments on DraftReport.docx.”

Sharing and Permissions

  • “Share Budget2025.xlsx with finance@company.com as an editor.”

  • “Change access for DraftProposal.docx so only viewers can see it.”

  • “Remove access for user@company.com from HRPolicies.pdf.”

Drive Organization

  • “Create a new shared drive called Product Launch 2025.”

  • “Hide the shared drive Archived Projects from my main view.”

Tip

  • You can use natural, conversational prompts. The agent interprets your intent and selects the right Google Drive function automatically. For example, simply saying “Share this file with my manager” is enough.
